Disappointing Sales Threaten Rihanna Tour

Here in the UK, tickets for Rihanna’s LOUD tour are like gold-dust: they rapidly sold out and are now being sold off for many times their face value on various websites. The demand has been so huge she’s had to add dates to the tour.

It is a very different story in the US though, if reports are to be believed.

It seems that the pop-starlet has found it difficult to sell-out large US arenas like the TD Garden in Boston where she is meant to be performing with Cee Lo Green. Some sources say that that concert alone could actually cost $500,000 to put on rather than break-even or make a profit due to only a fraction of the available tickets being snapped up.

Organisers have reportedly resorted to asking local radio stations to give away tickets to try to drum up interest and fill the arena.

If the rumours are true, it could result in some dates being cancelled from her US schedule in order to keep the tour in profit and avoid deserted arenas.
